As the marketing and communications student asisstant at LSU First Year Experience (FYE), it is my job to compose news releases of the events that the organization hosts to offer students a unique and unforgettable first year at the University.  This sample is the piece I wrote regarding FYE's annual event, Fall Harvest, that was published on the organization's website.
News Releases
Media Advisory
Newsletters
During my time as the marketing intern at Cancer Services, I assisted with the writing of news releases for the organization. Here is a sample of a news release I co-wrote with my director about the annual Cancer Services Jamabalya Sale.
This media advisory was written and dispersed to the on-campus newspaper, The Daily Reveille.  The advisory was written to inform the paper about the upcoming event, Seaux Stressed.  Seaux Stressed is hosted each semester during midterm week. It provides students with healthy stress relief activities and informs them on how to manage stress in the future.
One of my duties as marketing and communciations student asisstant at LSU FYE is to write the monthly newsletter. To the left are samples of the monthly newsletter from January and March.
Articles
During my time on the communication committee in the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) at LSU, I wrote articles for the organization's newsletter, The PRogram, and blog.
Academic Works
This sample was completed in my PR Research course at the Manship School of Mass Communication. My group and I studied the effect of Social Norming Theory on anti-tobaccoo advertisements. We complied our findings into one report entitled Social norming theory combined with fear appeal: An experimental examination of the influence of graphic images in anti-tobacco messages on LSU students.
Blogging
In my spare time, I enjoy blogging. I have written several blogs for PRSSA at LSU, one blog for LSU Parent & Family Programs and two for Current Communications blog regarding its client Youth Oasis.
